In 2007, Anil Ambani had a net worth of $45 billion, according to the Forbes Rich List. His biggest asset was a 66% stake in telecom venture Reliance Communications. Elder brother Mukesh had a net worth of $49 billion. In the 2017 Forbes Rich List, Anil's net worth had reduce to just $3.15 billion while Mukesh's was $38 billion. 

Fall of Reliance Communications announced that it has signed definitive binding agreements with Reliance Jio Infocom for sale of its wireless spectrum, tower, fiber and media convergence node (MCN) assets, the company said in a release to the stock exchanges.

Jio, which is controlled by Mukesh Ambani, emerged as the highest bidder in a transparent process conducted under the supervision of "a high-powered committee" comprising experts from banking, telecom and law.

The process is expected to be completed in three months starting January to March, 2018. For the asset monetization process, RCom has worked closely with all lenders, advisors and SBI Capital Markets to run a competitive process, it added.

The assets to be monetized include 122.4 MHz of 4G Spectrum in the 800/900/1800/2100 MHz bands, 43,000 towers, around 1,78,000 RKM (Route kilometer’s) of fiber and 248 MCN.

The deal with Jio comprises primarily of cash payment and includes transfer of deferred spectrum installments payable to the Department of Telecommunication (DoT). RCom will utilize the proceeds of the monetization of this cash deal solely for pre-payment of debt to its lenders.


The RCom stock had reduced 7.72 % to Rs 30.96 on the BSE when the markets closed on Thursday. On Nifty, the scrip went up by more than 9%. In the last three trading sessions, the stock has zoomed nearly 90%, adding Rs 4,052.09 crore to its market valuation.

So between Jan to march 2018, expected to reliance customer will get offer like as jio and aircel is closing its services in the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Due to this, aircel customer will choose collaboration of jio & reliance communication
